DCEF is pleased to announce 2 Davidson County teachers as winners of The Hugh Shepherd Family Spring Mini-Grants.
Our first Hugh Shepherd Mini-Grant was presented to Christina Edwards of Tyro Elementary. Ms. Edwards submitted her winning project: “Intervention Library”. In February, 2017, a surprise presentation was given to her in her classroom, so her students could share in the excitement. She received a $300.00 check, a certificate and a letter of congratulations from the Hugh Shepherd Family and the Davidson County Education Foundation.
The second 2017 Teacher Mini-Grant was given by the Hugh Shepherd Family to winner, Holly Leatherman of North Davidson Middle School. Ms. Leatherman submitted her winning project; “It’s Ancient History”. A surprise presentation was given at North Davidson Middle School in March, 2017. She received a $300.00 check, a certificate and a letter of congratulations from the Hugh Shepherd Family and the Davidson County Education Foundation.
The DCEF Mini-Grant Committee approved all the applications received and The Hugh Shepherd Family, made the final selections for both of their mini-grants. Our sincere thanks to The Hugh Shepherd Family for their generous donations and continued support toward DCEF and the teachers of the Davidson County Public Schools. Mr. Luke Shepherd is a former DCEF Board Member.
